Convergys to provide HR Business Services for Whirlpool Corporation

Leading Manufacturer and Marketer of Major Home Appliances Gains Global HR Infrastructure and Increased Capabilities

(Cincinnati; July 28, 2005) - - - Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a global leader in providing customer care, human resources, and billing services, today announced that Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE: WHR), the world’s leading manufacturer and marketer of major home appliances, has selected Convergys as its human resource business process outsourcing provider. Under the terms of the ten-year contract, Convergys will support Whirlpool employees and retirees from service centers located in the United States and Europe.

Convergys will provide Whirlpool with a comprehensive suite of services including payroll, employee service center, benefits administration, workforce planning and deployment, and data integration aspects of compensation and recruitment. Convergys also will provide support to Whirlpool’s global HR group for performance management and succession planning as well as supporting functions, such as vendor management, communications, change management, and policy and legal compliance
