Convergys Wins Second International ICT “BPO Employer of the Year” Award

(Cincinnati and Manila; April 21, 2009) - Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a global leader in relationship management, announced today that it has won, for the second time, the coveted ”BPO Employer of the Year” award at the 2009 International ICT Awards ceremony in the Philippines.

Since the launch of the awards ceremony in 2007, this is the second International ICT “BPO Employer of the Year” award that Convergys has received.

The judging committee, composed of a diverse group of independent and knowledgeable individuals with extensive experience in the industry, awarded Convergys the prestigious ”BPO Employer of the Year” award based on its leadership, strategic HR practices, commitment to continuous improvement, corporate social responsibility involvement, and its active support of the international ICT industry in the Philippines.

Convergys Vice President and Country Manager Marife Zamora led the contingent of Convergys employees present to accept the award.

“We are honored to have been recognized as the BPO Employer of the Year once again and we extend our sincere gratitude to the judging committee,” said Zamora.  “Our greatest asset is our people.  Without them, we could not have established the kind of reputation that Convergys has today, both in the Philippines and across the globe.  The commitment we have, not only to our clients, but for our employees, is reflected in this award.”

Organized annually by the Business Processing Association of the Philippines and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, the awards “promote the work and achievements of companies, individuals, and the overall industry to the Philippine and international business community.”

Convergys recently dedicated three contact centers in the Philippines on one day with Her Excellency, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, president of the Republic of the Philippines, as the honored guest in attendance.  Following the inauguration, Convergys now employs approximately 16,000 employees in the Philippines.

Within five years, Convergys has established 12 contact centers in the Philippines - seven located in Metro Manila, three in Cebu City, one in Bacolod City, and one in Santa Rosa, Laguna.  These facilities include the new sites Convergys is building, as announced in May 2008.  The new sites announced included Cebu Asiatown i3, UP-Ayala TechnoHub, Nuvali, San Lazaro, and Glorietta.
