Enriching Our Communities By Giving Back

Areas we focus on

Education

Education helps stimulate innovation, raise living standards, increase choices and reduce poverty. By supporting elementary, high school and post-secondary education initiatives, we are able to create opportunities to improve living conditions and quality of life in our communities around the world. We gain the business benefit of a better-educated and expanded workforce.

Our employees are constantly outthinking and outdoing in their communities, whether raising money to provide needy students with school supplies or spending time in classrooms at local schools.

Health and Human Services

We recognize that supporting the health services, well-being and vitality of the diverse communities where our employees live and work is also important. In North America, we have found that investing in United Way is one of the best ways to provide the help and support that is needed to those who need it most. The United Way supports a variety of organizations dedicated to health and human services as well as other necessary community services.

Community Relations Program

Our program supports non-profits on a local level. We want to directly support the goals of the non-profit organization, and therefore we do not encourage donations to walks, runs, golf outings or neighborhood special events

Donations awarded from the Community Relations Program generally are one-time gifts under $25,000 that do not carry multi-stage funding agreements. The Convergys Foundation typically makes larger grants. Community Relations donations support specific projects and programs and generally do not support endowment and capital campaigns.

In-Kind Electronic Resources

On a non-scheduled basis and as conditions warrant, we will donate electronic resources to qualifying nonprofit organizations. Whenever possible, we will distribute electronic assets or other equipment/furnishings to the community by working in collaboration with local United Way affiliate offices.

Electronic resources can include any of the following items: personal desktop computers, laptop computers, keyboards, mice and scanning equipment, including: microfiche, monitors, keyboards, printers, cables and docking stations.

Special Initiatives and Select Programs

Additionally, Convergys supports initiatives and select programs (charitable organizations, NGOs, hospitals, etc.) to help create a sustainable cycle of health and wellness within the places where our employees and their families live, learn and work. Promoting wellness and health awareness programs benefits Convergys since a healthier workforce results in increased productivity, lower absenteeism and lower health care costs.
