Healthcare Program

Our Healthcare Licensing Program allows you to do that! As a Healthcare Agent you will handle inbound calls to support member inquiries around insurance benefits, eligibility, claim inquiries, provider look-ups, status checks, and application status. You can earn an income and become a licensed agent on our dime through the Convergys University Pre-Licensing Training Program. 

We help prepare you for healthcare licensure. Convergys University Pre-Licensing Program comprises: 

  • Regular quizzes and activities will be used to gauge your progress and provide recommendations on areas you may need to spend more time focusing on prior to the licensing exam.
  • Prior to the licensing exam you will be able to take a predictor exam, which will provide additional information on your readiness and any areas of focus needed.
  • After studying in our classroom for 10 – 15 days, we will pay for you to sit for your licensing exam with proctoring services. 
  • We will work with you to coordinate the licensing exam date based on appointments available with testing agency and your schedule, normally within 3 – 4 days of the end of the pre-licensing course.

Most of these positions are seasonal, but once you are a Licensed Healthcare Agent, you can take that license with you, wherever your career leads, or return again next season. 1. What is the process for getting licensed?

  • Day 1 – You will meet our Licensing Admin and they will share the specific details on how we will support you throughout the process.
  • 48 hours after you pass the licensing exam, you will come on-site. 
  • We will then complete the licensing application in our recruiting area.
  • Documentation supporting any background issues other than a speeding ticket (including child support payments) will need to accompany your licensing application to the state for review and consideration. 
  • Our Licensing Admin will check state websites daily starting 24 hours after the application is completed to see if license has been accepted. 
  • As licenses are accepted and returned, we will track your license number, effective date, and expiration date in our system.  
  • Our Licensing Admin will also provide these details to our Talent Acquisition team for you to join warming and receive your product specific training assignment.   

2. What if I do not pass the licensing exam?

For individuals that do not pass the exam on the first attempt, additional coaching and remediation will be provided for another three days based on the specific needs identified in the predictor test, as well as your feedback on your testing experience. Convergys will pay for up to two attempts to pass the state licensing exam. If you do not pass on the second attempt you are welcome to attempt the test as many times as you see fit, although you will not be reimbursed by Convergys. If you pass your licensing exam and provide the appropriate documentation to Convergys, we will allow you to continue through the next steps in the process.

3. Can I return to this position each season?

Once you are a licensed agent with Convergys you can return to be an agent again the next season. 

4. Do I get benefits with this position?

If your role is a seasonal position, we are not able to provide traditional benefits. 

5. Can I transition into a new position when this seasonal role comes to an end?

Yes, we have opportunities for those agents interested in working at Convergys full-time that you can transition into when the season ends. An application will need to be submitted for the new position before a transition can take place.
